JDPC Nnewi Extends Educational Support Through Scholarship Initiative

As part of its commitment to promoting quality education and supporting vulnerable families, the Justice, Development and Peace Caritas (JDPC) Nnewi has successfully carried out another round of its scholarship programme, providing educational support to deserving students across communities within the Nnewi Diocese.

The scholarship initiative, generously sponsored by St. John XXIII, Rome, Italy, reflects a shared commitment to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to pursue education and build a brighter future, regardless of financial circumstances.

The programme reached beneficiaries across four regions of the diocese, with selected students receiving scholarships through their respective schools.

Amichi Region

  • Eziama Community Central School, Amichi
  • St. Anthony of Padua Secondary School, Osumenyi
  • St. Patrick Boys School, Unubi

Ihiala Region

  • St. Augustine College, Mbosi
  • Mbosi Central Primary School
  • Zion Secondary School, Ihiala

Nnewi Region

  • Nwibegbunam Memorial Secondary School, Nnewi
  • Okofia Central School, Nnewi
  • Obiofia Umunem Central Primary School
  • Okpuneze Central Primary School

Ozubulu Region

  • Seat of Wisdom Secondary School, Ozubulu
  • Jerome Udoyi Secondary School, Ozubulu

Speaking on the importance of the initiative, the Director of Justice, Development and Peace Caritas (JDPC) Nnewi, Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Chima Ben Okolo, said: “Education remains one of the most effective tools for social transformation and sustainable development. By investing in the education of young people, we continue to nurture hope, encourage academic excellence, and empower future leaders.”
